Øl, fest og fagforeninger
5. nov 2011 23:32, JOBFagforeninger oplever stadigt et stort frafald i medlemmer. Den ældre generation, der har været meget tro mod fagforeninger og fagbevægelsen generelt, nærmer sig i stigende grad pensionsalderen, og de unge gider ikke rigtigt fagforeninger.
Det har sendt fagforeninger og a-kasser ud i en desperat jagt på rekruttering af de unge. Midlet er ifølge flere artikler i pressen i denne uge, som det kunne forventes hverken solidaritet, fælleskab, faglig rådgivning eller bistand. Men derimod: Fradagsbarer, øl, tilbud på fitness, rejser mv.
Om det er et misforstået og fejlskudt forsøg på at være ”ung med de unge”, eller om det er den endelige erkendelse af fagforeningernes rolle i det moderne arbejdsmarked, er en anden, end den var for bare 30 år siden må stå hen i det uvidste.
En ting er sikkert de danske fagforeninger har svært ved at overbevise de unge om, at der er nødvendigt at deltage et store difuse fælleskaber uden nogen tydelig overblik over, hvad de egentlige fordele af. De fælleskaber de unge deltager i dag er mere fragmenteret og centreret med en klar social dimension, der er med til at definere deres identitet. De er mere illoyale og kræver mere af de fælleskaber, de indgår i. ”What in it for me?” bliver der indirekte spurgt om.
Fagforeninger griber altså desperat efter halmstrå, når de prøver at presse de unge ind i et fælleskab, de dybest set ikke kan se nogle fordele ved, med diverse gulerødder som øl, fester og rabatter. For hvad når flasken er tom, og tømmermændene er der, kan de unge så stadigt se fordele i at betale flere tusinde kroner om året?
En kritikker påpeger, at denne leflen for de unge dybest set bunder i, at fagforeninger ikke har noget relevant at sige de unge, og at de derfor forsøger at gøre sig relevante for de unge ved at tale deres sprog. Men de bør måske dybest set at spørge sig selv, hvad deres eksistensberettigelse er. Hvad har de at tilbyde de unge? Måske er svaret det, de dybest set frygter mest. At de er irrelevante ligegyldige og ingen berettigelse har for de unge længere.
